Emart is the first and oldest hypermarket-based brand with the first store opened in Korea in 1993. After over 20 years of development, Emart currently has 153 stores in Korea, 10 stores in China with total revenue more than USD13,2 billion in 2014.

In Korea, Emart is considered “the school of retailer gurus”, which has approached and worked with suppliers who produce quality goods at reasonable price for consumers.

Following its strategy to be one of the globally leading retailers, Emart has considered Vietnam a strategic market before entering other ASEAN countries.

“Where there are lots of flea markets, there is huge purchasing power. That is the reason why we chose Go Vap and Tan Phu to be the place where we run the first and second hypermarkets in Vietnam before taking our business to other provinces”, said Mr. Choi Kwang Ho, CEO of Emart Vietnam.
