Elementary students presented 1.000 quality helmets for free

On April 8th, E-Mart Vietnam Co., Ltd. and The National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC) presented 1,000 quality helmets to Nguyen Viet Xuan elementary school, Duong Quang Ham street, ward 5, Go Vap district.

PhD. Khuat Viet Hung – Vice President of NTSC said: in order to increase the awareness of complying the law of wearing helmets for children nationwide, as well as to respond to the 3rd Road Traffic Safety Week held by United Nation with “Children and Traffic Safety” theme, NTSC Office and E-Mart Vietnam Co., Ltd. signed an MoU on the propaganda of wearing helmets for children in compliance of the law in 2015.

According to Mr. Hung, in recent years, people have well complied to wear helmets when on motorbikes and motorcycles. This has partly helped to decrease traffic accidents. However, the awareness of wearing helmets for children is not carefully taken by parents.

“It is so obvious that parents carefully take care of their child wherever and whenever. However, I noticed many of them have ignored wearing helmets for children when taking them to school. Beside the commitment, we need strong actions from parents and teachers to wear helmets for children whenever they are on motorbikes or motorcycles.”, shared PhD. Khuat Viet Hung.

Also, E-Mart Vietnam Co., Ltd. and NTSC presented 1,000 helmets stamped with slogan “Love your child, provide a helmet” in the joys of all students.

Beside the commitment, we need strong actions
from parents and teachers to wear helmets for children

In the ceremony, Colonel Phan Van Xi – Deputy Head of Department of Transport and Main Roads (PC67) HCMC said: these days, PC67 has been checking and reminding parents of wearing helmets for children.

From April 10th, PC67 will fine cases without helmets for children. When and how to fine are considered very carefully before being applied. Parents will be pulled over and checked on roads in stead of school gates. Also, the checking will be conducted after school time to avoid children being late for class.
